We just wanted to drop you a quick note expressing our gratitude for the outstanding service my wife and I received in purchasing our vehicle from Mid Atlantic Motor Werkes. I had stopped in on a Saturday just to see what kind of cars were on your lot just kind of browsing and Dallas came out to answer all of my questions and then some; I told him I was just looking around and that the car was for my wife. I had been searching for a while, but Dallas assured me that if they didn't have it, they would find it for us. I told him I would have to bring my wife in on Tuesday to look and maybe test drive one of the cars, thinking in the back of my mind that my wife would not want to spend her day off driving to Harrisonburg to look at cars. Well on Tuesday we got up and it was raining, since we had no other plans, I suggested a "drive". The service was great; we have been to quite a few dealerships and I had kind of made up my mind to only buy from a private seller, because I didn't want the hassle and I thought I would get a better deal; this is definitely not true. We went for a test drive and I was sold; a few hours later, we drove away in our new car. The experience was great and I get compliments on the condition of the car; everyone thinks its brand new. We all know what it takes to spend unpleasant hours and hours at a dealership before you finally drive out with the chosen car – four, five annoying hours that at the end practically take all the joy of the first drive. My recent purchase at Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes turned to be something completely different. The dealership was recommended by a friend of mine who already bought a car there. At first I was reluctant since the place is 130 miles away, but decided to give a shot. It took about five emails and a phone call and we had an agreement. The coming Saturday I drove to Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes. I test drove the car, traded mine, completed all the paper work, was given a complete tour of the vehicle and drove out with the new one in less then 2 hours – 2 hours of friendly, relaxed atmosphere. This was our first experience dealing with Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes and buying a highline automobile. We had previously gone to a local BMW dealership and to a highline dealer closer in our area. I must admit I was a little skeptical when I talked with Greg on the phone about the Z3 and Z4 models that he had on his lot. Greg assured me that his cars were in great shape and he would make it worth our while to drive the 100 miles down to see him.We made the hour and 1/2 ride on a Sunday afternoon and met with Vince about the cars. There was no pressure or hassle to buy either car, though he came out on a Sunday to meet with us. As Vince can assure you, we were not an easy sale. Vince offered to let us take the car for a few days to test drive it and have it inspected. If we were not happy with the car, then there would be no hard feelings.A week later, we took delivery of our new toy and have had a blast. We have told several of our friends that love the car about Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes and the experience we had. I have to admit I have nothing to say but good things about the dealership and the experience my wife and I had with Vince and Greg. When they told us they would do things they took care of them and kept their word. We will definitely give them another look when we are in the market next summer for our daughter's car. A huge thanks to everyone at M.A.M for delivering a fantastic car at a great price while providing unmatched customer service! I’d like to expand on my experience at Mid-Atlantic for anyone reading this who is considering a purchase. I was in the automotive industry for 13 years, most recently as a regional manager for North America’s largest car and truck rental company. One of my primary responsibilities involved the acquisition and disposition of the fleet, including wholesale and retail sales. I think anyone would agree that provides me with detailed knowledge far above the average auto consumer. As I was preparing to change careers and move back to The Valley, I needed to quickly secure a vehicle to replace my company car. While I could have purchased one with minimal markup through one of my industry associates, I was willing to pay a little more back home to have a dealer to go to if I had any problems. On the trip back to Pittsburgh one Sunday afternoon, a chance detour took me by MAM. That night I found their website and emailed to inquire about inventory and their MAM Search. Before lunchtime the next day, Greg Shaffer called me. Over the next couple of days, without telling him my background, we engaged in an enthusiastic conversation about my desire for a 5-series BMW. I was immediately impressed that all of my probing questions were answered directly and with detail, but without a sales pitch. Since they did not have a car on the lot that met my desired specs, and I needed something within 10 days, we talked about their MAM search. Luckily, Vince was heading to the BMW auction to buy some inventory that week. Greg and I then discussed pricing. Still not knowing my background, Greg went over the pricing explaining every single cost to the transaction and what I could expect for what I was willing to pay. I then revealed to Greg my background and thanked him for his integrity. Having seen their pricing for a 5-series on their website, I already knew they were priced extremely fair. Going through the MAM search would even save me a little more. Cool! Well, over the next 48hrs, the level of communication from Greg, Vince and the team was unbelievable. After reviewing a list of well over 100 cars, we narrowed it down to @10. On the morning of the auction, Vince previewed the cars to see if their condition met MAM’s, and my, high standards. Over several more phone calls we targeted 2 cars to bid on and reconfirmed the maximum price I was willing to pay. Within a few hours, sight unseen, I was the happy new owner of a 2003 525i. And guess what? At a price reasonably LESS than the maximum I told them I was willing to have them bid. From an email on Sunday night to having the exact car I wanted by Thursday afternoon. Incredible!!! To top it off, when I drove back down that weekend to look at the car, I could not make it in before they closed on Saturday. Vince told me he had an appointment on Sunday to show a car (The Balkcom’s Z4) and I could come by then. The car was exactly as described prior to purchase and drove like a dream. When I picked up the car a week later, they had already taken care of a few minor touch-ups I was going to ask them to do. Finally, we were done with the paperwork and driving our awesome new car in about an hour. Since then, a few other needs I’ve had have been met with the same sense of urgency, detail and professionalism. For someone reading this, your search for where your next car will come from has ended. If your experience is HALF as good as mine, it will be better than any other car purchase you’ve ever had. Greg or Vince, you can even give someone my phone number if they want to hear my opinion first hand! 6/14/06TO: Mid Atlantic MotorWerkesI purchased a 2002 Mercedes CLK 55 AMG “sight unseen”! Why? Several reasons! Let me explain!Prior to purchasing my new Mercedes, I drove thru the lot of Mid Atlantic MotorWerkes 3 or 4 times, after their closing hours, to admire the gorgeous imported sports cars on their lot. I went after closing so I wouldn’t be asked by a salesperson, may I help you. I had no idea what car I wanted to buy, I just knew it was time for a change and I wanted something in the sport’s car line. Each time I visited the car dealership, I couldn’t believe how immaculate the cars were, inside and out. On all the cars, the scratches inside and outside were minor and some of the cars, 4 years old like my new car. I visited several other car dealerships over a 30 day period and I kept coming back to Mid Atlantic. I’m very particular with my cars when it comes to scratches and dents!Finally, I stopped by on a Tuesday during business hours and talked with Greg Shaffer. I asked about a Porsche Boxster. I couldn’t believe the product knowledge this young man knew on this car. I drove the car. Awesome drive but too low to the ground for me. I then asked about the BMW Z4 on his lot. Again, he knew everything about this car also. The engine, transmission, horse power, etc. It was like he built this car. Well, I drove this car. Again, like the Boxster, it was a two seater and I felt maybe I need to stay with a 4 seat car or rather, a front and back seat.Greg then suggested a Mercedes and had me test drive a Mercedes 320 2 door coupe. This drove awesome and was getting close to what I was looking for. Greg then introduced me to his brother Vince, which I realized I had met him a year earlier. Anyway, he started talking about Mercedes. He, like Greg, knew everything about all Mercedes. Engine, transmission, horse power and much more. He suggested that when he goes to the next car auction, having an idea of what I wanted, he would call from the auction and we’d go from there. First week, no luck; Second week, no luck; Third week, hit the jack pot. Vince called me while he was sitting in as he said, “this gorgeous 2002 CLK55 AMG. He pointed out a few scratches it had, black on black, rear tires needed replacing due to over inflation, inside perfect, leather seats looked like new and a few other items that I forgot. I was so excited I couldn’t remember everything. Anyway, he quoted me a price, I said go for it so he placed the bid the next day and it’s mine. I LOVE this car!!!!Now, after reading everything above, let me tell you WHY I DID SPEND ALMOST $30,000 ON THE WORD OF ONE MAN I HAD MET ONLY ONCE BEFORE? T R U S T!!!!!! After talking with Greg and Vince, I knew they were both two men I could TRUST! The knowledge these two guys have on all their cars, the cleanliness of their cars. Almost scratch free. Vince told me when he goes to an auction and it’s raining, he pretty much packs it up and comes home. He won’t buy a car at an auction if it’s raining because he can’t see all the scratches. This makes since but for him to be that particular, you rarely see anymore in the car business. These guys don’t only want your trust, after talking to them; they have earned your trust! They treat you with utmost respect and make you feel important while in their showroom. Greg even took me to the service department and went over how they service cars and what parts they stocked. They want you as a satisfied customer and I am a satisfied customer and if I ever get tired of this Mercedes, I’ll definitely go back to MID ATLANTIC MOTORWERKES!!!!Oh, last but not least! Don’t forget about Blain. Very nice gentleman! Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Always greets you with a smile and assists in anyway he can even if he is not the person selling the car. They all work as a team and in my opinion; this is one of many reasons why they are successful!
