2007 Season
Greg Shaffer of Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes prepares to campaign this
E36 BMW 3 Series in the BMW CCA Series in D Modified. Testing thus
far has proved to be successful and the whole team is fired up for
its debut at the end of July at Summit Point Raceway where they will
compete for top honors in the highly modified BMW class DM.
Car Specs: 1995 BMW 325i
Engine: World Challenge, Single Vanos Robello Racing Engine 2.8
Liter 6 Cylinder producing 330hp to the crank.
Body: BMW Factory Team carbon fiber widebody kit.
Suspension: AT custom built cage with Bilstein Group N shocks and
Eibach coil over suspension.
Brakes: Stoptech ST-40 calipers with Performance Friction 0-1 Pads
and Slotted Rotors.
Tech: Custom wired M3 ABS unit, (4) BBS 18x10" wheels on 4 corners
wrapped with 275/35/18" tires by Hoosier.
Mercedes-Benz Racing
2006-2007 Greg Shaffer of Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes will be driving
for RC Imports of Rockville Maryland in a ex-Speedvision Mercedes
190e 2.6 Liter.
This Benz is owned by Rick and Cindi Ellinger, owners of RC Imports
in Rockville, MD. Rick and Cindi prepare a great car each and every
race and we have proven to be a threat at any SCCA sanctioned enduro
out there. The long time dedicated team members have vast knowledge
of Mercedes and 2 of them are factory certified Mercedes-Benz
technicians at Euro Motorcars in Bethesda, MD.
Greg is honored to be a part of this very successful heritage of
racing w/ RC Imports and is racing the Kumho Tires Endurance race
series w/ them in 2007.

Greg Shaffer of Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes and Co-Driver Paulo DoCouto
of Rockville, MD (Auto Centro) are driving the APR Tuned Audi A4 in
the Grand American Road Race Series ST Class.
Schedule for 2007 TBD at this time.

we carry.  We are very
passionate about motorsports! We live, breathe, own and race
the brands that we sell. All too often we come across others
in our industry that don't even know what it's like to push
a fine European automobile to its limits. You can rest assure
that your team at Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes is on the track
testing and racing the very cars we sell! We are now
gearing up for the 2005 season with a 2001 BMW M3 (E46) and
plan to campaign this car at Summit Point and Virginia International
Raceway during the upcoming season in 2 of the largest semi-pro
motorsports endurance races in the country.

Achievements: Greg Shaffer won his first race in the fall of 1999 in an ITB
VW Golf Gti. Since then he has competed in the Mid Atlantic
Road Racing Series in the Washington DC Region SCCA for over
5 years with multiple top 5 finishes throughout the MARRS Series,
and 4 top 3 finishes at Virginia International Raceway in front
wheel drive sports cars. In 2000 Greg started working for Bill
Scott Racing, inc. at Summit Point Raceway as a high performance
driving instructor passing on the knowledge and love of the
sport to many of folks in the Mid Atlantic area.
Highlights Include: Runner Up Rookie
of the Year Award in 2000 season. Hard
Charger Award at Summit Point (Fall '99), Hard Charger Award at NASA VIR (Summer
'01), Running the 12 Hours at the Point race in 2001 in a Nissan 240Z co-driven
with Jonathan Boxwell and Neil Maddox, and returning to run the 12 Hour endurance
race again in 2003 in an ITB prepared VW co-driven with Paulo DeCouto and Ric
Bushey, 1 st Place in class 2004 12 Hours at Summit Point co-driven
with Paulo DoCouto, 3 rd Place in class in 2004 13 Hour Headlight
Brigade at VIR co-driven with Paulo DoCouto.
Upcoming Events: 12 Hours at the Point in June of
2005, 13 Hours at VIR in October of 2005. More events TBA.
